The Executive Chairman of Agbar and Chairman of Aqualogy, Angel Simón, has been appointed Senior Executive Vice-President of Suez Environnement, in charge of the Water Activity in Europe, Suez Environnement announced today. He will combine this new responsibility with his duties at the head of Agbar and of Aqualogy.
In a press release, the CEO of Suez Environnement, Jean-Louis Chaussade, explained why he decided to implement changes in the organization. They are due to the difficult economic situation of the euro zone, where the group still obtains 60 % of its revenues, and to the need to adapt its activities to a rapidly changing international environment.
Chaussade moreover defined this new organization with the aim of having the structure necessary for a reinforced, market-oriented control.
He also maintains that the group has to be more global, to show a greater capacity for integration more oriented toward the needs of the industry, with a solid and structured business vision intended to develop and better organize excellence in the activities of the water and waste sphere.
The company’s operating activities will be taken on by another two Senior Executive Vice-Presidents: Christophe Cros, Senior Executive Vice-President, in charge of the Waste Activity in Europe, with the SITA brand, and Marie-Ange Debon, Senior Executive Vice-President, in charge of the International Activity (Degrémont, United States, Africa/Middle East, Asia/Pacific).
