Aqualogy UK and Affinity Water have agreed, through the company Enterprise, to carry out an important pipe cleaning project in north-west London using Ice Pigging. The objective is to reduce the incidence caused by the historical accumulation of sediments and biofilm in the water supply network in this area.
The cleaning in question covers a whole sector of the supply network which starts from the water treatment plants in Roydon and Blackford, includes the core network with a diameter of up to 600 mm,and reaches the end of the distribution network. To carry out this action, which will last until the end of May, Aqualogy UK will produce and deliver over 25,000 litres of ice a day through its Ice Pigging technological solution. This technology is chosen by the big companies of the sector to clean their networks precisely because it is faster, more effective and less harmful for the pipes than any other technique.
For its part, Affinity Water is the name of Three Valleys Water, the biggest water supply company in the United Kingdom, which supplies a population of over 3.2 million people.
