In the context of the 21st Conference of the Parties of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP21), which will be held from 30 November to 11 December 2015 in Paris, SUEZ Water Spain has drafted a position statement with the company’s main commitments in the fight against climate change.
With the aim of continuing to progress toward a model of economic, social and environmental sustainable development, the company is committed to integrating the circular economy as the cornerstone of the organization and thus to being a multiplying agent in the fight against climate change.
This commitment takes shape in the triple axis "people-planet-company". People, to provide quality of life, consolidate social involvement and raise awareness on the sustainable use of resources; planet, to manage water resources responsibly, promote energy self-sufficiency, achieve zero waste and preserve biodiversity, and company, to promote responsible economic development.
SUEZ Water Spain’s commitments in the fight against climate change are divided into the following lines of action: (1) efficient use and preservation of water resources; (2) carbon management; (3) responsible energy consumption in managed facilities; (4) introduction of the circular economy model; (5) encouragement of sustainable mobility, and (6) dialogue with the stakeholders.
