The Algerian Minister of Water Resources, Hocine Necib, inaugurated the 10th International Water Fair, Pollutec, stressing the great work undertaken by Agbar in the country. In particular, he pointed out that the company’s action has made it possible to supply two million people 24 hours a day and to guarantee high-quality water which fulfils the parameters included in international standards ISO 9001, 14001 and 17025.The minister likewise revealed the large number of young Algerian managers who have been trained in knowledge transfer, one of the strategic pillars of Agbar’s contract in Oran.
Agbar participated in this event, held in Oran (Algeria), with the aim of sharing the cutting-edge technology that it has deployed in the country, through the delegated management of Société de l’Eau et de l’Assainissement d’Oran (SEOR), with 250 international companies devoted to environmental management, in addition to the main operators in Algeria.
New nerve centre of SEOR’s activity
The event also saw the inauguration of the Bâtiment Intelligent (BI), a new building located in Ain el Beida, which was planned, designed and built under the supervision of Agbar in one year.
The BI is the nerve centre of SEOR’s activity and is a benchmark in the use of new technologies such as the remote management centre with 373 facilities controlled, sectoring with 96 hydraulic sectors, geographic information systems (GIS) covering the whole territory, modelling, web services, CONTEC, AquaCIS, LIMS, CAT Averías, and planning and information systems.
This structure represents a new management concept characterized by its multidisciplinary and cross-functional nature, in the form of an open space model with the availability of a conference room for 120 people, 30 skilled technicians and two meeting rooms.
