Since its inauguration, on 16 September 2005, the Agbar Tower has become an icon of Barcelona. The tower, in addition to representing the city, embodies Agbar’s philosophy: It is an efficient, state-of-the-art, highly technological and environment-friendly building. The Agbar Tower is not just an architectural reference. It is also an example of the international management of corporate centres on an international scale.
The Agbar Tower has 31 floors with plenty of light, no columns dividing its useful space, and three technical floors, which control the building’s management systems. Each floor has a clear height of 2.60 metres and the work stations receive natural light from the 4,500 windows which go all the way around the perimeter of the façade. The building’s total surface area is 39,000 square metres. Of them, 30,000 square metres are dedicated to offices and are located above ground level. The total floor area is 50,500 square metres and its total height is 142 metres.
