The main objectives of the foundations created by Agbar are to support knowledge development and to circulate the know-how accumulated by Agbar and the companies which form part of its organization, to encourage reflection and dialogue with society, and to manage the historical memory of the company.
From the point of view of corporate responsibility, the foundations become a social actor which promotes the development of values of sustainability, care for the environment and rational use of resources.
Cornellà de Llobregat and Granada are the headquarters of the Agbar Foundation and the Aguas Granada Foundation, the two foundations set up by Agbar in 1998 and 2007, respectively.

Agbar Foundation
The Agbar Foundation was created in 1998 starting from the Centre for Study and Research and Aplicaciones del Agua, which was dedicated to acquiring and managing knowledge in the field of the complete water cycle. The Agbar Foundation is now a reflection of the environmental values and social vocation which inspire Agbar. Indeed, it carries out its activity with the aim of contributing to the circulation of these values and of being one of the main points of connection between Agbar and society.
Its spheres of action include the Museu Agbar de les Aigües and the management of the company’s historical archives.

Agua Granada Foundation
The Agua Granada Foundation was created in 2007 with the aim of contributing to a rational use of water resources and to a defence of nature through sustainable development. The activities and initiatives that the Agua Granada Foundation carry out include the organization of cultural visits to the historical sites of the city’s water management and the establishment of non-profit agreements with administrations, research centres and other organizations.
