Aqualogy, Agbar’s integrated solutions brand, has obtained its first contract in Brazil, a country with significant water and sewerage management challenges. Aqualogy will supply, install and operate under guarantee a wastewater treatment plant sludge management system in the city of Limeira (280,000 inhabitants), in Sao Paulo state. The solution will be based on STC low temperature thermal drying, one of the company’s state-of-the-art technologies.
Agbar has set itself the objective of being present in Brazil through Aqualogy and of close collaboration with local companies such as Foz do Brasil, the country’s main private water operator, which manages the complete water cycle of cities such as Limeira.
Investments in water and sewerage
Brazil’s national sewerage plan foresees investments of €170 billion in the sector by 2030 and its market, which is highly competitive and demanding for foreign companies, requires advanced solutions in various fields such as sludge management, loss control and very specialized professional services, such as those provided by Aqualogy.
The low temperature thermal drying system, STC, has been successfully introduced in numerous facilities, such as the Dublin wastewater treatment plant, the one in Alicante, integrated with the cement works, which uses the sludge generated as fuel, or the one in Barcelona, one of the largest of the world in its category.
