The Chairman and CEO of GDF-Suez, Gérard Mestrallet, delivered a speech at the Círculo de Economía on the energy sector. Agbar’s Chairman and CEO, Angel Simon, introduced Mestrallet, and previously had closed a conference on investment possibilities in the Euro-Mediterranean region, held in CaixaForum.

Gérard Mestrallet mentioned on several occasions the collaboration of the GDF-Suez group with Agbar and La Caixa. In his speech, he praised the “loyalty of the partners” in a collaboration which already goes back decades. Mestrallet defined Agbar as a “formidable group with an important presence worldwide”. He also stated that he sees it as a “privilege” to be able to collaborate with Agbar and stressed the management work of Angel Simón at the head of Agbar. The Chairman and CEO of GDF-Suez also demonstrated his confidence in the recovery of the Spanish economy: “I am confident that Spain will soon return to the path of growth”, he stated.

Gérard Mestrallet participated in this conference, held within the cycle “Energy, climate change and growth”, and organized by the Círculo de Economía, coinciding with his attendance of a working day of GDF-Suez in the Agbar Tower. Previously Mestrallet attended the end of the “Euro-Mediterranean Investment Conference SME & Project Financing”, held by Àngel Simón, as a member of the public,

During the closing of the conference on the Euro-Mediterranean area, Angel Simón thanked the attendees for participating, in a round table which summed up the conclusions of the day. As was stated in the conference, the political and social movements in favour of democracy which are occurring on the southern shore of the Mediterranean represent a key moment in the evolution of the area which might open up many investment possibilities.
